Renting Portable Restrooms For Your Backyard Wedding
Having a backyard wedding can be quite advantageous. Your most likely using the property of a family member or friend and it’s also typically very budget friendly. If you’re having a larger wedding 50+ guests your probably using a larger more rural setting somewhere in the country where you’re more likely to be on a septic system or simply have too few bathrooms for the amount of guests attending. This is where renting a portable bathroom can be quite an advantageous convenience. When choosing the right portable toilet or restroom trailer it’s important to remember how many people are attending and for how long. All portable restrooms have a limit to the amount of waste they can handle and that will vary based on the amount of guests, the duration of their stay/your event, and if food or drink is served. Ask your portable restroom rental agency which and how many restrooms are appropriate for your event. Another deciding factor is if you, your guests or your neighbors would have a problem with a porta potty. Porta pottys tend to have a bad rap, they’re seen as gross, smelly disgusting things by a lot of people. Some people will simply refuse to use one at all, others are simply uncomfortable with the claustrophobic 4x4ft enclosed plastic square. They are cheap to rent however, they typically run for around $100 and for that they deliver the restroom, stock it with supplies, clean it and pick it up. You probably couldn’t hire a house maid to come out and clean your bathroom for any less. More over if your claustrophobic I suggest renting a handicapped accessible version, they’re huge and not much more expensive. They’re typically large enough to be used as a changing room too. If the thought of renting a porta-potty disgusts you then your next option is a flushing restroom. Flushing restrooms typically start with a “VIP Toilet” some of them are very similar in size to a portable toilet others are built into a VIP restroom trailer. These units work more like an RV than a chemical toilet. For one most don’t use chemicals at all, they flush the waste into a holding tank below. They use battery and/or solar power and have a fresh water on tap and a mirror like a normal bathroom. VIP toilets cost around 2-4x more than a porta potty and because of the flushing mechanism most of them have less capacity than a portable toilet at around 70 people vs 120 for a chemical toilet for . VIP bathrooms vary in size depending on who you rent from, some can be larger than a porta potty, others are smaller. You’ll find that the ones that look like airplane/bus bathrooms are quite claustrophobic inside. For bathrooms with a bit more room inside that look like the bathrooms in your home you’ll need to go a step further and get a “restroom trailer”. Portable restroom trailers are the crème de la crème of portable sanitation. They’re large, comfortable and typically decorated like either a public bathroom, a bathroom in your home, or even to the standards of a 5 star hotel bathroom. They typically have loads of room, most have air conditioning and have a large capacity too. Your typical 2 stall portable restroom trailer can support 200-300 people for an 8 hour day, that’s a lot of people! Most are large enough inside to be used as changing rooms, and some have baby changing tables or enough counter space to act as one. Most restroom trailers start with 2 stalls, a men’s stall and a women’s stall. Some have 3 stalls, this is to help alleviate long wait times to the toilet and come with a 2 stalls for each sex and 1 stall that’s unisex. Anything beyond that goes into the territory of large scale festivals which have several stalls per side and act more like a portable public bathroom. Keep in mind that restroom trailers are quite large so make sure you have enough space in your backyard to fit one. These portable executive bathrooms are expensive to buy and maintain so they command a much larger price tag to rent then a typical porta potty but for most, the special occasion warrants the extra expense. I think that having portable restrooms at a backyard wedding with a huge amount of people is a smart idea. I can see how it will help if the house that it is at only has two, maybe three bathrooms. Next time someone is scheduling a big event outside, I will have to tell them about this idea.

I like the article's idea to rent a handicap accessible portable bathroom. After reading that, I thought back to a few times that I have used them and I realized that the article was right. They are quite a bit bigger and I feel much less crammed in them. If they are only a little more expensive, I think it would be worth it.

I didn't realize that there wore more luxurious forms of portable toilets available for events such as weddings. This is good to know since it might be a good fit for my daughter's outdoor wedding she's planning. It would be really convenient to have nice, portable restrooms close by for all the guests.

Thank you for suggesting that if you are claustrophobic you should rent the handicap accessible toilets. My sister is planning a family reunion and wants to rent portable toilets so everyone can have bathrooms. I'll have to help her find the right company to get these from.

Thank you for suggesting that you should determine how many guests you have coming and how long they are going to be staying. My fiance and I are wanting to have portable restrooms at our wedding. I'll have to look into finding the right company that can provide these for us.

That's nice that you can rent a porta potty for only $100, and they'll deliver it, clean it, and supply it for you. My fiance and I want to have our wedding on his family farm that's far out in the country. It seems like renting toilets would be a good way for us to have facilities available that don't cost much.

Thanks for the information about flushing toilets about how they tend to start with "VIP toilet" and that they work like RV toilets. My daughter is getting married next spring and she wants her reception outside so we were looking at what options we had for bathrooms. I'll have to tell her about these portable flushing toilets and see if that's an option for the reception.

Thanks for explaining how you want to consider a portable restroom trailer. It makes sense to find something that is big and accommodating as well as portable. I need some portable toilets for my outdoor wedding, so I'll have to consider a restroom trailer.

Thanks for pointing out that renting a port a potty will cost you less than hiring a maid to come clean your bathroom. My husband is throwing a large get-together for some of his coworkers in our backyard. I don't like the idea of all of them using our home's bathroom, so I've been looking into options for portable toilets. We're trying to get the party done on a budget, so it sounds like renting a port a potty will be a great option!

One of my friends recently got engaged, and he and his fiancee may want an outdoor reception. If this is the case, of course they'll need to rent a restroom trailer. It helped when you pointed out that they are rather inexpensive and you don't have to clean them yourself. This article could potentially help my friend and his fiance plan their reception, so thank you for sharing!

You said that we should ask our portable restroom agency which and how many restrooms will be appropriate for the event we are hosting. This is great to know! My daughter wants to have a backyard wedding. We're thinking about renting toilets because she has invited over 600 guests for the reception! It would be a disaster if everyone was sharing one toilet. I'll look for a service near me that can help with this!

Renting outdoor portable toilets is always a good backup to have especially when you're in a venue that only has a few toilets and there are a lot of guests who all have different sanitary needs to attend to. There are even some portable toilets that have an automatic flushing feature to get rid of that unexpected surprise that landed in the bowl, too! If I had the chance to rent out a portable toilet I would rent one out for a relative's gathering since there's like a lot of us coming together and there's only one toilet available at the venue that my brother booked, so... oops.

Making sure that you are getting the most out of your portable toilets is a great idea. Having options between and RV-like portable toilet and regular chemical toilets is huge. My sister is putting together a family reunion and might like knowing this.

I have to agree with you when you said that porta potties have a bad rep. They absolutely do with their bad smells, stingy sanitation possibilities, closed-in space, etc. There is just a lot that can make a person uncomfortable. It is definitely something to consider to have comfort in a portable restroom.
